David Rostance

David Rostance

David has been in accountancy all of his life and qualified as a Chartered Accountant at a very early age. He has worked in practice all of his life, other than a two year period in industry where he gained great insight into the problems which clients face on all sorts of day to day matters.

As well as working in smaller accountancy businesses, he worked for one of the top four firms of accountants for a period of five years, gaining considerable experience on larger audits and dealing with takeovers and mergers at a high level.

In more recent years David has continued to develop a strong relationship with his clients, assisting them in the development of their own businesses, with a view to profit growth and retention. He has also actively been involved in both purchases and sales of businesses, running into several million pounds each.

David is the individual responsible as regards audit work within the practice but continues to be involved in all aspects of our business development.

David’s interests outside of the office centre around his family and all sporting activities, not many of which he now participates in, but all of which he follows keenly. Contact David here.


Barry Edwards

Barry Edwards

Barry started his accountancy career in 1986, and progressed quite quickly to management level, before he was 20 years of age.

In 1998 he joined David Rostance to form Rostance Edwards, which offered a new level of service to clients that was more personal and comprehensive.

‘Our clients consider us as friends, they ask our advice on all sorts of subjects you would not expect your accountant to deal with.’

Barry has a vast knowledge of all businesses of all sizes in accountancy and taxation matters, as well as mergers, acquisitions, Management Buy Outs etc.

He has knowledge of a number of specialist fields including Doctors, Dentists and the Health Service, but his passion and major expertise is in the growth and development of clients’ businesses.

Barry played football in his younger days to a very high level, almost making professional standard. These days he offers his time at weekends as chairman and manager of a football club for less privileged children and up to the age of 21.

Andrew Pountney

Andrew Pountney

Andrew started his accountancy career over 15 years ago and has trained with a number of top twenty accountancy firms through his career. He qualified with ACCA in 2006 and from then he has moved progressively forward in his career into his current position of Director.

Andrew’s interests outside of work include football and kickboxing. He is an avid West Bromwich Albion Fan for his sins, but he also enjoys playing.

Andrew has experience within the fields of Charities, Housing associations, Solicitors and a range of both accounts and taxation aspects of limited companies, sole traders and partnerships. Contact Andrew here


Philip Owen

Philip Owen

Philip joined the practice in 2014, having worked in accountancy for over 10 years, quickly progressing to manager level and then branch/client manager.

Philip’s experience covers a wide range of clients, from small businesses to large audit clients and international groups whilst working as an audit manager at previous firms. Philip has a wide knowledge of industries but also specialises in property and construction companies.

Philip’s focus is on delivering a high level of service to all clients, adding value to our services wherever possible to aid the profitability and growth of our clients’ businesses. Philip quickly progressed to Director in January 2017 having built up a strong client following and by providing excellent service and advice.
